About CATS
Complete Apprenticeship and Traineeship Services (CATS), a division of the Complete Personnel Group. We employ Apprentices and Trainees; place them with Host Employers to gain skills and experience, and provide regular workplace training and support towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications.
What are Apprenticeships and Traineeships?
Traineeships are full-time or part-time non-trade positions that involve work and workplace or classroom-based training leading to a nationally recognised qualification. Trainees are paid a training wage that increases according to the level of secondary schooling completed and years since completing school.
Apprenticeships are four-year full-time positions that involve work and off-the-job (classroom) training leading to a nationally recognised trade qualification. Apprentices are paid an apprentice wage rate that increases with each year of experience.
Both the Employer and Apprentice/Trainee sign a Contract of Training that outlines employment and training conditions, and the Traineeship and Apprenticeship Management Branch of the State Government monitors this contract.

Wages and Entitlements
As an Apprentice or Trainee you will be paid the applicable weekly wage, leave entitlements, allowances and other conditions as required by the relevant Award. Training attendance is paid.
You may be entitled to receive a supplementary payment if you are in receipt of a Centrelink benefit before commencing employment as a trainee.
Host Employers
You will work for one or more Host Employers (Businesses) during your employment with CATS. All Host Employers are assessed for work safety, supervisory and training suitability before a CATS Apprentice or Trainee is assigned for work.
Training and Support
A Field Officer will maintain contact with you and your supervisor regularly in the workplace (every 4-8 weeks) to provide support and check on your training progress. Training is provided by a Registered Training Organisation and generally occurs in the workplace for trainees, with a trainer visiting regularly to provide coaching and assess your ability. Apprentices usually attend formal, off-the-job training with a Registered Training Organisation.
Positions Available with CATS
‘CATS’ generally employs Trainees and Apprentices in the fields of Office Administration, Retail, Personal and Aged Care, Engineering Production, Transport/Distribution and Horticulture. Apprenticeship positions are occasionally offered in other trades.
What we look for
We look for candidates who have not previously completed a formal qualification, but have completed Year 10 secondary schooling. Some positions require Year 11 or Year 12 secondary schooling.
You should be well presented and well groomed, reliable, feel comfortable speaking to and dealing with others and be able to read and write English. Basic computer skills are a necessity for office administration positions.
